Lisbon Street Art

Few people go to art exhibitions nowadays, the art comes to them!

Lisbon!!

There are many beautiful things to do in this city. Guidebooks, Websites & Youtube videos will list out an array of historic locations & viewpoints to visit, restaurants to dine at, foods to try (Pastel de nata is a must) & so much more. And yes, if you have just a few days in town, all of those worth the try.

I had originally planned my trip to Lisbon for 9 days & many of those “must see & must do” things were on my list.

Then came a global pandemic, my flight got cancelled & so for some time Lisbon was home.

Post lockdown restrictions in Portugal, I bravely decided to venture out with my camera. Being a hobbyist street photographer I took the opportunity to photograph the unusually empty streets of some of the most visited suburbs in town. Along with those empty streets, I discovered a lesser talked about feature of the city. It’s Gorgeous Street Art!!!

They decorate the walls & buildings of this amazing city, & honestly, I feel that neither they nor their creators get the credit or recognition that they truly deserve.

I made it a personal project to capture & catalogue as much of this artwork as I possibly could.

I will try to find the artists or link their social media wherever possible & if you are interested, I will mention their locations as well.

Disclaimer: Most of these images have been edited using Adobe Lightroom to bring out as much of the color as possible.

So yeah, enough reading.

Enjoy!!!
