Formula 1, also known as F1 racing, is a highly organized and competitive sport. The F1 World Championship is a season-long competition that consists of a series of races, known as Grands Prix, held on purpose-built circuits and public roads around the world.
Each team, or constructor, designs and builds their own car to compete in the championship. The cars are highly advanced and feature cutting-edge technology, such as advanced aerodynamics, hybrid power units, and advanced materials. The teams are allowed to make some technical changes to the car during the season, but these are regulated and limited by the FIA (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile)
The race weekend starts on Friday, with two practice sessions. On Saturday, there is a final practice session followed by a qualifying session, which decides the starting grid order for the race on Sunday. The race itself typically lasts around 2 hours, during which the drivers must make pit stops to change tires and refuel.
The driver who completes the most laps in the shortest amount of time is declared the winner of the race. Points are awarded to the top finishers, and the driver and constructor (team) with the most points at the end of the season are crowned Formula One World Champions.
Formula 1 is not only a sport but also a business and a technology showcase, with a big economic impact and huge media coverage. Teams are sponsored by big companies and the races are broadcasted around the world.
